Working at Height Refresher
Course Overview
This course will refresh you and update you in personal responsibilities and any changes to the Health and Safety Legislation. It includes a series of practical exercises to refresh your knowledge in the use of height safety systems such as anchor points, work positioning, restraint systems and developing and implementing a rescue plan.
Note - You are required to refresh your working at heights training every two years to remain complaint with Health and Safety Legislation.
Learning Objectives
- Explain the legislative and personal responsibility.
- Identify risks and hazards associated with wearing a safety harness.
- Understand fall protection systems, harness systems, associated equipment and recording requirements.
- Check, inspect and fit a full body harness.
- A combination of discussion, demonstration and practical application of using proprietary height safety systems.
- Identify suitable anchor points, install and understand suitable anchor points for fall restraint and fall arrest systems.
- Determine safe work methods, minimising risks.
- Understanding the requirements for rescue planning, establish rescue plan and emergency procedures for working at heights.
